Great intro to Pokemon

Pokemon Pinball's gameplay has very little to do with the role playing game that started the craze, but it does exhibit quite a few elements that will be familiar to those who follow the franchise. The game has a complete Pokedex listing some key information about each of the Ruby/Sapphire Pokemon, so it's also a great intro for those who are new to the world of these collectible monsters. If nothing else, you'll learn the suckers' names!

This time around, the pinball game features all of the Pokemon available in the Ruby/Sapphire versions of the RPG, with a few hidden surprises. The game has two main tables to choose from, and each one has its own unique challenges. With a total of 201 Pokemon to catch, hatch, and evolve (or 205 if you have the luck to encounter the bonus Pokemon), you'll have plenty of reason to keep playing.

Contrary to the overview, this game is a 1-player game. It does however have the ability to link up to another Pokemon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire game cartridge via GBA Link Cable. If your High score on the Ruby or Sapphire table is higher than your friends, your score will be placed at the top of their High Score list. Also, any Pokemon that your friend has caught but you have not will be added to your Pokedex (greyed out of course) so that they will appear more often in your game.

The game is very responsive and challenging, and will provide you with a fun way to pass time in airports or over your lunch break. The only potential fault to the game (and many would consider a plus) is that there is no such thing as a Tilt. So nudge away at the table all you want.
