Kaz Hirai, the man in charge of Sony Computer Entertainment America, admitted to gaming publication GameSpot that the PlayStation 3 production lines have yet to be turned on. Because of short timescale for mass production, Hirai says retail shortages of the PlayStation 3 are inevitable. Despite the tight timeline between now and November, Hirai says he is confident the company will still have its two million promised units for launch date.
